First aid course event sector

This one-day first aid course is specially designed for the event sector. It covers the most common accidents and injuries at events and discusses how best to deal with affected victims.

The course starts with a general introduction to safety at events, after which our first aid specialist takes over.

You will receive a participation certificate upon completion.

 

This course is organized by ourselves at regular intervals or you can choose to organize this course only for your team. Contact us for more information!

Basic First Aid course

The training lasts 15 hours, spread over 2 or 3 days (depending on how you wish).

 

The theoretical part includes:

  • Basic first aid principles

  • Alerting the emergency services

  • Resuscitation techniques according to European Guidelines

  • Stable side position

  • Actions for abrasions, fractures, burns, ...

  • Technique for choking

 

The practical part includes:

  • Resuscitation techniques according to European Guidelines

  • Use Automatic External Defibrillator

  • Heimlich maneuver  when choking

  • Stable side position

After passing the exam you will receive an official certificate. An annual refresher course of 4 hours is mandatory.

Fire prevention and use of extinguishers

The basic fire safety training mainly focuses on prevention, but also teaches you how to deal with a starting fire.

​

This 4-hour session is always supervised by an experienced firefighter teacher and a safety officer.

Theoretical part (2.5 hours):

  • Origin and development of fire

  • Smoke development and the associated hazards

  • Types of extinguishing agents

  • Fire and explosion hazard depending on your activities

  • ...

Practical part with training of extinguishing techniques (1.5 hours)

  • Safety briefing

  • Extinguishing different types of fire (class A and B)

  • Handling of extinguishing agents:​​

    • Fire blanket

    • CO² extinguisher

    • Powder and foam extinguisher

    • If available: fire reel

  • Extinguish a burning person

Crowd Management

Crowd Science & Risk analysis

This course is specifically designed for anyone responsible for public safety at events and thus needing to understand the basics and applications of crowd science.

 

During the course, among other things, the participants' own cases are examined with regard to crowd science. Questions to be answered include how and when the public forms a critical mass and how the techniques of design, information and management systems influence public behavior.

By the end of the three-day course, participants will understand how individuals and crowds react and behave in their designated space at high-traffic events. Participants will also have explored the safety implications for designing and managing such spaces, using appropriate modeling tools. In addition, one will be able to apply risk management techniques to develop a robust crowd management plan.

The course is suitable for: event planners, prevention services, emergency planning officials, event location/hall managers, security, police, fire brigade and others with licensing, planning or event management responsibility.
